The journalism minor prepares students to write and structure news stories for print, broadcast and multimedia platforms. Students will gain experience seeking facts, finding sources, interviewing and developing techniques for sharing well-told narratives. To further enhance their skills and gain practical experience, students will have the option to participate in an internship, which provides valuable hands-on experience and a competitive edge in the job market.

Policies

Eight credits of coursework must be unique to the minor and students must complete all coursework with a minimum GPA of 2.00. For policies governing all minors, see AP.5.3.4 Minors.

This minor is not available to communication majors pursuing a concentration in journalism.
