CHSS 405: Digital Humanities Project. 1 credit.
A one-credit project designed to add a digital inquiry component to another course chosen in consultation with an advisor. With the guidance of course instructor and minor director students will propose and create a digital project related to the material of the course. Required for the digital humanities minor. CHSS 490: CHSS Undergraduate Teaching Practicum. 0-1 credits.
Course is designed to support first-time undergraduate teaching assistants in CHSS courses. Students will learn practical skills, knowledge, and conceptual frameworks for effective peer teaching. Prior to enrolling in CHSS 490, students must receive faculty approval to serve as an undergraduate teaching assistant in a CHSS course. Offered by Humanities & Social Sciences. CHSS 780: Applied Research Portfolio. 1 credit.
Supports doctoral and master’s students in professional effectiveness and increases the ability to explore and prepare for future careers. Addresses strategies for applying research methods, presenting research to broad audiences, and developing professional networks. Engages students in the construction of a public research statement and development of a professional research portfolio. Offered by Humanities & Social Sciences. May not be repeated for credit.
Recommended Prerequisite: 12 credits in a CHSS graduate program or permission of instructor.
Recommended Corequisite: CHSS 790

CHSS 790: Applied Research Experience. 2 credits.
Provides opportunities for students to synthesize research methods and apply approaches in the field to professional research practice through a supervised practicum/internship, service-learning project, consultancy, or fieldwork placement that the student brokers with a third party. Students will engage in 2 credits of experiential learning and 90 hours of supervised research. Offered by Humanities & Social Sciences. May not be repeated for credit.
Recommended Prerequisite: Completion of, or current enrollment in, CHSS 780.
Registration Restrictions:

Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy, Graduate or Non-Degree.
