The statistics minor provides students with a background in the methodology and application of statistics. It is intended to complement undergraduate degree programs in the College of Engineering and Computing and the College of Science, especially those programs that require MATH 113 Analytic Geometry and Calculus I (Mason Core), MATH 114 Analytic Geometry and Calculus II, and STAT 344 Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists I as a part of the major requirements.

To be admitted to the minor, students must have completed MATH 113 Analytic Geometry and Calculus I (Mason Core) and MATH 114 Analytic Geometry and Calculus II with a grade of C or better.

The minor in Statistics requires 15 credit hours of coursework. Grades of C or better are required in all courses. At least 8 credits must be in courses not required by the student's major. For policies governing all minors, see AP.5.3.4 Minors.
